Barrie Hill Anniversary Service
Due to the cancellation of Barrie Hill's in person Anniversary Service this year, Senator Rob Black has graciously accepted a one year delay and will be our guest speaker for the Barrie Hill Anniversary Service in 2021.
Rob has worked in the rural, agricultural, and leadership arenas for much of his working career. He was involved in 4-H for 45 years and is a Past President of the Canadian 4-H Council. Rob was Ward 5 Rep. on Wellington County Council, a Manager of the Ontario Research and Development Challenge Fund, and President of the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame Association and the Wellington County Historical Society. Rob worked with OMAFRA for 15 years, the Ontario Soybean Growers and was Executive Director of the Rural Ontario Institute (ROI).
In 2012, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. In 2013, Rob was awarded the Outstanding Leadership Program Director Award from the International Association of Programs for Agricultural Leadership (IAPAL) and in 2016, Rob was made an Honorary Member of the Canadian 4-H Council. On February 27, 2018, Rob was sworn in as a senator. Rob and his wife Julie live north of Fergus and have four grown children and two grandsons. We look forward to having him speak at our Anniversary Service.
